Our passion is to bring practical beauty into people’s homes—not just to envision it, but to make it happen.

Together, our founding partners have the whole process covered. In 2024, after extensive careers on their own, Kelly and Kevin decided to combine their design and construction backgrounds and team up through Chestnut Grove. (Yes, they’re partners in life and work.)

Kevin’s team, Build with Chestnut Grove, is here to meticulously execute on anything we design—and with the aim to help you actually enjoy the process.

Kevin Hurst got his start in the industry long before he met Kelly. He’s worked in nearly every corner of construction, from roofing and exteriors to remodeling and project management, all starting on an Amish construction crew when he was 16.

Before launching Chestnut Grove, Kevin led Revolution Builders for 15 years and served in operations for some of Lancaster’s finest build teams. He’s experienced, humble, and collaborative—the guy you call up with a technical question (who’s also never too proud to call in the right specialist).

While he’s a stellar tradesman, Kevin’s true craft is running jobs. There’s no winging it on his watch, just steady days of office planning and regular presence on the job site.

So wait, are you a design-build firm?

The answer is … sort of. 

Yes, we have design and build teams, and often our clients hire both. (Working together from start to finish definitely adds that extra layer of magic.) But we also give our clients the chance to choose how they engage—and offer services a la carte in the name of creativity.

Through our model, design comes first. We never want construction timelines to pressure you into style choices. So we take the time to imagine your space—and hash out the details—before starting demo or moving dirt. And if you want to bid the design with other builders, we’re cool with that too. But of course we hope you’ll stay.
